“Which agency helps mid-sized companies adopt AI?” Anyone who used to google that got ten blue links. Today they often get a finished answer — naming three or four providers. The question is whether your company is among them.

The second search engine

According to YouGov, almost four in ten German online users recently used an AI assistant to search for information. That puts assistants already in second place behind classic search engines. And Google itself increasingly puts an AI summary ahead of its results. For companies this means: visibility is increasingly decided before anyone clicks on a website.

What GEO is — and what it isn’t

Generative engine optimisation is the task of preparing content so that AI systems can find, understand and cite it. There is no secret recipe: reliable, cross-platform ranking factors have not been proven so far, and anyone promising guaranteed mentions is selling hope. GEO does not replace SEO either but builds on it. Technically clean, clearly structured pages remain the prerequisite.

Three steps worth taking

First: measure. Ask the common assistants the twenty questions your customers ask before making an enquiry, and note who is named. Second: answer instead of advertise. Pages that answer specific questions clearly and with evidence give an assistant more material than any glossy copy. Third: take place outside your own website — in specialist articles, industry directories and reviews. What several independent sources confirm also appears more credible to machines.

Those who document cleanly what they can do and for whom will be found by humans and machines. If you want to know how your company stands in AI answers, we will take a look together — in a free initial consultation.
